Literature Text
Eyes are evil things
When they betray your longing
To lovely strangers
When they betray your longing
To lovely strangers
Literature
Dear Out-of-Focus Eyes
Your face is out-of-focus,
stranger,
and maybe you're crying
under the weight of your hair,
maybe you're blushing
beet red under there...
but I'll never know.
I could make up stories about you all night.
I imagine
when you smile,
dimples crease your cheeks
and fireflies appear in your eyes,
but traffic will never stop dead for you.
I imagine you're one-of-a-kind
caught up in a sea of average.
You'll laugh
when fingertips tickle your heels
and your heart
beats just the same as mine
beneath your skin.
You're a writer
or a singer
who hasn't been discovered.
You're a princess
whose bright crown
has yet to be uncovered.

October Eyes
Such gentle colors drip across your freckled shoulder blades.
A quilt of puddled watercolors soaked in auburn shades.
Spun of golden rivulets and rinsed in autumn skies,
So many endless currents swimming through your lonesome eyes.
Brushing under fingertips and over shattered songs,
Unraveling like morning glaze against my paling palms.
With beauty like October hills and hollow as the skies,
The water drops against the earth will be our lullaby.
Literature
the night in Sagada
lily-white fingers
forget-me-not eyes
dandelion bones
the unfurling
of wildfire,
the sound of
hair and sinew
cracking then breaking.
ripped, burned
then smothered.
the song
of raven wings
and starving
moons.
the soul of
a dispassionate
body billowing
like the waves beneath
dead skies.
your grave.

I don't have much to say (whaat? God forbid!) about this little tidbit. I suppose I was people watching when this came to mind.

Love the juxtaposition of "lovely strangers" - well done! Faved.
