Full-to-bursting schedule
For attention paid to my bluster
All the arms-flailing passion mustered
On a dimly-lit computer screen
My passions are spread thin
I'm defensive and hurling abuse
'Til the other is stung and subdued
It's not much that
I've asked of you
Moments for a song
Just a minute or two
Something worth sharing
More than just 'good'
A piece of music without which
I'd become unglued
A frantic phone call
When one's stomach growls
I ignore and it echoes thrice
You could be my greatest vice
Perhaps I've made
Your survival certain
So close to home
The most convenient person
Whenever need outweighs the means
Remember these verses
The meaning poured over
Remember my request
When you are showered with curses
As soon as my accelerated heart rate
Tumbles back down
I search for wallet and keys
To deliver and spend as you please
Any delicious impulse
To simply disregard
Is fleeting and lost on the wind

Lightbulb
How many times do you have to
screw with my head
around like
an electric socket that goes to a lightbulb until it goes dead
from so much exhaustion of always having to"stay on"
for a faulty parallel circuit that just gives in
to the slightest trigger that touches its brim
copper wires wrapped around power that is trying to glow
Why are you hiding me in a restrictive shallow sheath skin
when I'm trying to grow
all I want is to feel complete in a formation
that travels like traffic, paving a way
for my electrons to scurry like the information I have to retain
that shock me in the brain
that mold ideas and thoughts that
awfully hurt me

Silence deafens
It screams at me from blank walls so I fill them with photographs
So they’ll seem less empty, and so will I
Silence welcomes
When the world is just too loud and too chaotic and too restless
And all I want in this moment is quiet
Silence echoes
From the depths of the empty beer bottles that line my bedside table
They promised fulfillment or at least escape the night before
Silence lies
It tells me that I am not good enough for a house filled with love
The kind that comes from the heart of a man
Silence comes
The moment I lay my child’s sleepy head to rest and surround her with pillows
So that she may never know

I actually wrote this little tirade months and months ago - probably November or December of last year.
I put it away and forgot about it, then showed it to the person who inspired it. Of course, at the time of composition I was just being silly and overly-sensitive about something that really didn't mean anything. Now I see just as much of myself in it as the person in question, and I am humbled.
I finally came back to it, edited the shit out of it, and decided that it's not so bad.
I think this is mainly about the give-and-take of friendship, and a perceived imbalance in that scenario. Kind of like "I've done things for you, and I continue to do them, so why can't you even perform THIS small service in return?"
Certainly not my favorite poem, but it's got some merit.
P.S.: Wild Beasts HEAVILY inspired the rhythm and rhymes.

Excellent picture of two members of the band who inspired this little rant:
A gorgeous retelling of the proverbial imbalance, only HER work was successful. This poem is incredibly lovely and sincere in its simplicity.

I think you have several good lines in this, and the emotion is certainly there, but the rhythm didn't flow well for me. You also lost the rhyme scheme after the first two stanzas, then sort of picked it up later, but didn't follow through with it.
